Inaugurating the 18th edition of Light + Intelligent Building Middle East, the premier gathering for the building technology and lighting sectors in the region, was Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa). With more than 440 exhibitors from 34 countries, the event will run at the Dubai World Trade Centre until January 16.

Intelligent Building + Light Government officials, business executives, and members of international organisations will attend the Middle East, where this year’s theme is “Building Commonality Through Community, Creativity, and Culture.”

Al Tayer visited a number of display stands during the opening tour, including those for LEDVANCE, Honeywell Lighting (Vesra), Illus (Marketing Home Group), Vimar, Broadlink, and NuLumenTek.

“Light + Intelligent Building Middle East 2025 will feature over 150 speakers across three stages at THINKLIGHT, InSpotLight, and the Smart Building Summit,” said Abdul Muhsin, Show Director for Light + Intelligent Building Middle East. More than 550 professionals from the worldwide lighting business will gather for the event, which will include a range of expert-led workshops and conclude in a renowned awards night on January 16.

The Smart Building Summit’s chairperson, Azmi S. Aboulhoda, CEO of EMergy, gave the opening remarks. The summit will address a number of subjects over the following three days, such as “Regulatory Standards and Compliance Governing Smart Buildings,” “Cybersecurity in Smart Buildings,” and “The ROI of Smart Buildings.
