“This year’s edition features over 2,000 events, showcasing a wide range of programs organised by participating institutions,” said Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre and Director of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF). He pointed out that more than 1,400 exhibitors from 96 countries are participating in the 34th edition of the exhibition, with over 20 new nations joining.

Al Tunaiji clarified in remarks to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the program consists of unique events focussing on culinary culture, community-based projects for all societal sectors, especially the young, and kid-friendly activities. Additionally, the ADIBF features “Digital Square,” an area dedicated to modern technology that showcases the latest advancements in the publishing sector.

He confirmed that the exhibition provides Emirati publishers with extra attention, offering them a platform to showcase their accomplishments and experience in the publishing industry, while encouraging collaborative publishing and translation initiatives with Arab and other publishers.

Al Tunaiji stated that ADIBF provides a sizable area for technology and e-books, offering participants a glimpse of the latest publishing developments. While the “Poetry Majlis” will promote regional and Arab literary trends via both classic and contemporary poetry, the “Arts Corner” will present artistic endeavours about book creation. Al Tunaiji concluded that the fair’s wide range of offerings reflects its growing significance as a central international cultural platform in the publishing sector.
