For the first time, a prime minister attended a Catholic Church event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Christmas celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) at its offices in the nation’s capital.

Numerous Christian religious leaders praised Modi’s involvement and called it a moment of great honor” for them.

In an interview with IANS, Father Nirdosh Ekka, a member of the Society of Jesus, expressed gratitude to the prime minister for the unique gesture and their eagerness to join the nation’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.

We are grateful to PM Modi for joining us. He was as happy as we were. He gave us good treatment. Every citizen should get justice and be treated fairly. “This is the message of Jesus Christ as well,” he declared.

We will contribute to the progress that the Prime Minister is guiding the nation toward,” stated Father Nirdosh, who is also the secretary of tribal issues for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI). However, there are instances when certain people stop us from contributing in this way. When it comes to education, our community makes the most significant contribution. Our educational institutions are the best, even though we only make up 2%.
