The ‘Al Khair Bus’ program was started by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai in accordance with the Year of Community, which encourages a sense of social responsibility, and the values of charity and community solidarity that define the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The goal of this project is to make it easier to distribute Iftar meals in partnership with the Dubai Charity Association and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works. The program was created to support Dubai’s workforce in appreciation of their crucial contribution to the city’s development and to foster a socially conscious culture.
This will be accomplished by serving wholesome Iftar meals in a fraternal and compassionate setting. Throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, 150,000 Iftar meals will be distributed, with 5,000 meals provided every day, in strategic labor districts of Dubai, such as Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, Dubai Investments Park, and Al Muhaisnah. The goal of this project is to promote unity in society.
The initiative is an essential part of the Directorate’s overall commitment to providing support to the labor force, thereby acknowledging their indispensable role within various sectors,” said Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and Chairman of the Standing Committee for Labour Affairs.
