The Abu Dhabi Labour Court of First Instance decided that a business had to pay Dhs289,265 to a worker who had been employed for 22 years. This decision covers fees and costs associated with pay and end-of-service perks and is instantly enforceable without the requirement for bail.
The matter began when a former employee complained about his former company to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization’s Department of Labor. The matter was sent to court because the department was unable to settle it. The person subsequently sued the corporation, demanding that it pay him Dhs24,000 in housing allowance, Dhs138,865 in end-of-service compensation, and Dhs150,400 in back salary.
The Court swiftly enforced its decision by ordering the corporation to pay fines and expenditures. The complaint was founded on the allegation that the person had resigned from his position and had a fixed-term employment contract with the organization. However, the corporation had not fully paid his salaries, even though his base monthly compensation was Dhs6,720.
According to the lawsuit papers, the employee quit because they weren’t paid. Although it did not offer a defense proving payment, the burden of proof was on the business to demonstrate that salaries had been paid. He is entitled to Dhs229,880 in back pay because his entire income was Dhs8,400.
