The Ajman Transport Authority (ATA) has declared the completion of the digital payment project in taxis by 100%. This step reflects its commitment to adopting modern technical solutions and developing a smart and sustainable transport system that meets the aspirations of customers and supports digital transformation trends in the emirate.
The ATA explained that all fare payment operations can now be performed electronically through multiple payment methods, such as the “QR Code” shown on the meter device or through the customer’s phone, in addition to “POS” devices that support bank cards and “Contactless” payment operations, providing a safe, fast and easy payment experience.
Engineer Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport Corporation, said that the completion of the project is a qualitative step in the development of taxi services, improving the efficiency of service and raising the level of the customer experience. He noted that the project will also assist to speeding up payments with high levels of security and reliability, while minimising dependence on cash, in addition to promoting sustainability trends in the transport sector.
Al Jallaf said that the ATA is making progress in developing its digital services and applying best practices in the transport sector, which improves Ajman’s position in providing smart, safe and sustainable transport services, and enhances the quality of life and well-being for the community.
