The Abu Dhabi Labour Court of First Instance ordered a corporation to pay Dhs231,504 to a former employee in compensation for her delayed monthly paychecks, end-of-service bonus, yearly leave benefits, and notice pay.

The woman had worked for the company for around six years, but the company had forgotten to pay her wages. Previously, an employee filed a complaint against the firm for which she worked, requesting that the court force it to pay her back earnings for a period of six months totaling Dhs156,000, plus Dhs40,833 as an end-of-service bonus, Dhs7,000 as annual leave entitlement, and Dhs51,000 as notice pay.

The plaintiff also requested that the court order the defendant to hand over an experience certificate to her, pay the incurred expenses and the lawyer’s fees, and include immediate enforcement of the judgment, citing that she worked for the company at a basic wage of Dhs7,000, for a total of Dhs28,000. The court explained that because the case file contained no evidence of the company’s exemption from the agreed-upon wage, the employee was entitled to her delayed wage for this period, which totalled Dhs156,000.
