Together with Solutions+, a Mubadala smart mobility supplier, Masdar City has started testing level 4 autonomous vehicles (AV) throughout the city. To ensure safety, compliance, and compatibility with Abu Dhabi’s larger goal for smart mobility, the effort, which is managed by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), has entailed the registration, testing, and operational approval of autonomous cars.
The project highlights the role of Masdar City, a global centre for clean technology and the location of the Smart Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) cluster, in advancing autonomous transportation and exemplifies the emirate’s dedication to fostering innovation and influencing the future through cutting-edge technology.
The announcement of level 4 testing marks a substantial leap forward in AV capabilities, and we are proud that Masdar City is once again leading the field in the development of such a critical future technology,” stated Ahmed Baghoum, the city’s chief executive officer.
