These services are intended to expedite the process of erecting condolence tents and re-establishing power to houses and buildings damaged by fires. By automating the production of no-objection certifications and facilitating direct data sharing between the two organisations, this effort seeks to lessen the strain of navigating government administrative procedures. When an application is made through the Sharjah Digital app or SCDA’s platform, the new service allows for the issuing of a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the establishment of a condolence tent in less than three minutes.

After that, the application data is immediately sent to SEWA to make the electrical connection easier. In compliance with established guidelines, the service also automatically issues NOCs for the restoration of electricity after fire accidents. This simplifies the customer journey and eliminates the requirement for the consumer to physically visit either office in order to complete operations between the two companies.

“We have concentrated on developing these two services to ensure our procedures are more considerate toward families during periods of bereavement and more responsive to the needs of those affected by fires, as effective government service begins with understanding people’s circumstances and needs, especially during times when their burdens are compounded,” stated Major General Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General of SCDA. “We have a duty to the community to assist people in recovering from incidents and getting back to their regular lives while maintaining fundamental safety and prevention standards,” he continued.

SCDA makes it possible for the full process to be finished electronically when it comes to the service of granting a no-objection certificate for erecting temporary tents. The application information for a condolence tent is automatically sent to SEWA after the certificate is issued. This eliminates the need for the applicant to make a separate request or physically transfer documents between the two organisations by enabling SEWA to start the required processes for connecting electricity.
