The fourth cohort of the Arab AI Researchers (AAIR) program has been launched by the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF), in partnership with the University of Dubai and the Arab AI Index in Universities (AIU). The event is set for November 5–7, 2026. Four Arab universities—the University of Dubai, the University of Khorfakkan, Badr University in Cairo, and Al Qasimia University—will collaborate on the project to improve Arab scholars’ and researchers’ capacity to use Agentic AI technologies and create intelligent research systems that promote scientific output and global academic publishing.
“Arab AI Researchers: From Generative AI to Intelligent Academic Agents in Academic Research” will be the focus of the fourth edition. Over the course of three days, there will be fifteen hours of practical instruction that will introduce participants to over fifteen AI tools and applications. The program will concentrate on creating intelligent academic agents that can carry out related research activities under human supervision and in compliance with academic integrity and governance requirements, as opposed to the individual usage of generative AI technologies.
The fourth edition, according to Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, CEO of the AIJRF, is a major advancement in the initiative’s methodology, with a thorough emphasis on creating AI agents and enhancing Agentic AI’s function as an intelligent research helper. “We will develop teams of agents to manage literature reviews, research surveys, interviews, and data analysis, and we will train participants to build AI agents that support scientific publishing in journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science,” he said. Arab researchers will be able to focus more on critical thinking, creativity, and significant scientific discoveries as a result. Dr. Abdulzaher underlined that while Agentic AI would significantly alter the research abilities needed in the upcoming years, it will not take the place of researchers’ scientific contributions or inventiveness.
