A teacher was given a two-year prison sentence after the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court found him guilty of physically abusing four students. In addition, he must pay court fees and will be deported from the nation after completing his term. The teacher beat up the kids in a classroom at a private school in Abu Dhabi, causing injuries that kept them from handling their personal matters for up to twenty days. The teacher admitted the assault both in court and throughout investigations, which served as the foundation for the court’s ruling. He asserted that his actions were an effort to improve the kids’ behaviour and avoid turmoil and disruption during the lecture.
The court affirmed that the defendant’s confessions were supported by surveillance camera footage, which graphically depicted the cruel and violent acts he committed against pupils without cause. The court said in its ruling that the assaults, which occurred on school property during class hours, were a violation of public order and safety because such behaviour puts people’s stability and security at danger. It emphasised that upholding public order protects individual welfare, upholds the fundamental ideals of society, and guarantees adherence to the legal precepts that were flagrantly broken in this instance.
The court further declared that the defendant’s actions constituted a flagrant breach of the law. It also emphasised how important it is to implement the law strictly in order to maintain social security, safeguard individual rights, and stop acts that jeopardise or disturb people’s safety and harmony.
