Officially transitioning the advanced spectrum into active commercial operation, e& UAE on Tuesday announced the commercial debut of the world’s first mobile network operating on Upper 6GHz1 (U6GHz) 256TRX Giga-MIMO2 technology.
The UAE’s 6G roadmap, spearheaded by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), is being bolstered by the commercial activation, solidifying the nation’s status as a worldwide leader in the early adoption of next-generation connectivity prior to international 6G standardisation.
Unlocking the commercial capabilities of the “Golden 6GHz Band” and strengthening e& UAE’s long-term network evolution toward IMT-2030 and 6G, the launch of U6GHz is deployed directly over the existing 5.5G network.
The commercial activation of U6GHz 256TRX Giga-MIMO signifies a significant milestone in the evolution of e& UAE’s network, according to Marwan bin Shakar, Chief Technology Officer of e& UAE.
