Dr. Anwar Bin Mohammed Gargash, the UAE President’s diplomatic adviser, emphasised the UAE’s expanding engagement with Africa, stating that the nation realised early on that the world was changing and that closer connections with the continent should be established through direct collaborations. In a post on X, Gargash stated, “The UAE’s investment, development, and humanitarian engagement with the African continent represents a remarkable success story.” According to him, the UAE recognised early on that its interactions with Africa and the formation of alliances throughout the continent shouldn’t always go via the European and Western gateway.
Gargash stated that yearly commerce between the UAE and Africa currently surpasses $107 billion, highlighting the notable expansion of economic connections between the two regions. He went on to say that UAE investments in African markets are close to $150 billion, highlighting the extent of the nation’s economic involvement. The growing partnership, according to Gargash, is another accomplishment of UAE policy aimed at broadening alliances, strengthening collaboration, and creating direct connections with a shifting global economy. As part of its larger strategy of establishing direct ties with nations and areas worldwide, the UAE has created economic, investment, development, and humanitarian links throughout Africa. According to Gargash, the UAE-Africa connection exemplifies the importance of forming alliances founded on direct interaction and sustained collaboration.
