Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, was welcomed by Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa in Manama. Brigadier Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard Special Operations, and Lieutenant General Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, were present during the meeting.
Sheikh Hamdan’s travel to Bahrain for the joint military exercise known as “Bahrain Shield” began with the meeting. The Mohamed bin Zayed Squadron, GCC military units, a Peninsula Shield Force contingent, and Saudi Arabian forces participated in the exercise, which was organized by the Bahrain Defense Force. The exercise is a component of initiatives to improve coordination and integration between the armed forces of GCC nations and to fortify combined Gulf military cooperation. It included field exercises and operational scenarios intended to improve combat preparedness, promote knowledge sharing, and fortify command-and-control systems, enabling the participating forces to handle a variety of security and defense issues.
Sheikh Hamdan and the accompanying party were greeted by the King of Bahrain, who expressed Bahrain’s satisfaction in the long-standing fraternal connections and historic cooperation between the two nations and their peoples.
