The US’s threats to bomb Iran, together with the fact that the two sides are very far apart in talks about Tehran’s nuclear program, have caused oil prices to rise. Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, said, “These are planned exercises and everyone agrees on them ahead of time.” He went on to say, “Russia is continuing to build its relationship with Iran, and we urge our Iranian friends and everyone else in the region to be careful and hold back.”
Some countries have told their people to flee Iran because of the chance of a military clash. “We are seeing an unprecedented rise in tension in the region right now, but we still hope that political and diplomatic means and negotiations will continue to be used to find a solution,” Peskov said.
