Sharjah-Ruler-inaugurates-18th-Nabati-Poetry-Festival

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council, went to the opening of the 20th Sharjah Nabati Poetry Festival on Monday. The festival will run from February 2 to 9 and will feature more than 70 poets, as well as a small group of critics and media professionals from across the Arab world. The Cultural Palace is where the festival is taking place.

The Ruler of Sharjah honoured poets Saeed Boulahaj Al Rumaithi and Ali Jumaa Al Suwaidi for their work in Nabati poetry and for their important contributions to preserving the authentic poetic heritage, making it more visible in the cultural landscape, and adding works that reflect national identity and social values to the literary scene.

Sheikh Sultan and the other guests saw a presentation that showed the journeys of the two poets recognised in this issue. The program highlighted important literary milestones and their contributions to the wider cultural realm of Nabati poetry. The two poets thanked Sheikh Sultan for recognising them and for always supporting poets through the gift.
