The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, working with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, has reported strong progress in the emirate’s 2025–2026 seasonal influenza campaign. More than 350,000 people have been vaccinated so far, marking the highest participation seen in recent years.
The campaign runs from September 2025 to March 2026 and reflects Abu Dhabi’s prevention-first public health strategy. Its aim is to reduce flu infections, protect high-risk groups and strengthen community immunity during the winter season. Vaccination uptake has more than doubled in just a few years, rising from 162,761 in the 2022–2023 season to over 350,000 this year, an increase of more than 115 per cent.
To make vaccination easy and accessible, mobile teams have been active across majlis, shopping malls, workplaces, embassies, workers’ accommodation and key government entities. These efforts are supported by awareness campaigns shared through local community channels.
Weekly mall outreach programmes in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, along with neighbourhood majlis sessions, continue to expand the campaign’s reach. Special focus is being placed on older adults, children, pregnant women, people with chronic conditions and frontline workers.
