To finalize organizational and security preparations for the 2026 New Year’s Eve celebrations, Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, presided over a high-level coordination meeting.

The goal of the conference, which was attended by directors of general departments, police stations, and specialized field teams, was to guarantee the best levels of comfort and safety for the millions of locals and foreign visitors who are anticipated to celebrate the New Year in Dubai.

The conversations focused on strategic plans for iconic landmarks, including the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, Dubai Festival City, Global Village, and the Burj Al Arab, as Dubai’s New Year’s Eve celebrations have grown into an international event.

Smooth traffic flow and efficient crowd control are given top priority in the entire operational plan. Despite the large number of tourists, Dubai Police are closely collaborating with government, semi-government, and private sector partners to maintain smooth mobility around the city.

Maj. Gen. Al Shamsi emphasized at the meeting that Dubai Police work with a proactive perspective to strengthen community trust. He pointed out that extraordinary coordination and the application of state-of-the-art technology are necessary to secure an event of this size.
