We recently had the privilege of engaging in an insightful conversation with Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind, a researcher, scientist, and an esteemed expert at the Global Future Council on Data Foundation. She also offers her expertise at the Paris School of Management as a Professor and Member of the Board of Directors. As a professor, she brings the cutting-edge of Quantum Computing and AI applied to business to life for her students. Passionate about Quantum Computing, Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind is not just building technologies, but cultivating thriving engineering teams globally.
The Beginning
We started the interview by asking, “What first inspired you to pursue your current industry or professional path?”
Prof. Dr. Kathrin shared, “I have always been fascinated by the invisible architecture of reality — the mathematical fabric that underlies intelligence, energy, and life. My journey into quantum computing and AI began not with a textbook, but with curiosity about how the universe processes information. There was a defining moment early in my career when I realised that the same quantum principles shaping atoms could also redefine how we compute, decide, and create.
That convergence — between physics and consciousness, logic and imagination — inspired me to dedicate my life to building the technologies that will power the next century.”
Adaptability Amidst Challenges
Challenges are an inevitable part of every journey. To learn how Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind overcame the same, we asked, “Can you describe one significant challenge you’ve faced in your career or business, and how you successfully overcame it?”
She explained, “One of the greatest challenges was building trust around a technology most people could not yet imagine — convincing leaders that quantum AI was not science fiction, but strategic infrastructure. The key was storytelling through data: translating quantum algorithms into business impact, showing how they could reduce emissions, accelerate drug discovery, and optimise global logistics. Once we reframed complexity into clarity, adoption followed.”
Envisioning the Industry
To understand more about the industry’s growth, we requested Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind to share her perspective on the key trends or changes that might shape the future of her industry over the next 3–5 years.
“The next three years will bring convergence — between quantum computing, AI, and sustainable technology. We will witness the rise of quantum-assisted AI models, capable of reasoning beyond classical limits, and post-quantum cybersecurity becoming a global imperative. At the same time, governments and enterprises will pivot toward quantum sustainability — using quantum optimisation to cut carbon footprints and redesign resource efficiency at a planetary scale,” she reflects.
Plans we asked Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind
We further asked, “What are your long-term aspirations for your company or role, and what strategies are you implementing to reach them?”
She shared, “My long-term vision is to democratise quantum intelligence — to make it accessible, ethical, and transformative for every sector, from healthcare to energy. We are building a quantum-native ecosystem that bridges deep science with real-world applications. Strategically, that means expanding cross-disciplinary R&D, nurturing global partnerships, and fostering education pipelines to ensure that the quantum economy is not just advanced, but inclusive.”
Impact of AI
To understand Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind’s perspective on the digital revolution, we asked, “How do you see artificial intelligence and emerging technologies influencing your industry or business model?”
“AI and quantum are not separate revolutions — they are two halves of the same equation. AI gives us pattern recognition; quantum gives us pattern creation. Together, they will evolve from tools of automation into engines of understanding. I foresee AI-driven quantum systems designing new materials, discovering medicines, and even forecasting systemic risks across climate and economics — creating a digital nervous system for the planet,” she explained.
Values at the Root of Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind’s Approach
To learn more, we requested Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind to share the core values or guiding principles that influence her decisions and the way her organization operates.
Prof. Dr. Kathrin added, “Integrity, transparency, and impact. Every decision must advance science, serve humanity, and sustain the planet. We believe technology should not only accelerate progress but elevate purpose — aligning innovation with ethics and inclusion.”
From Innovation to Major Breakthrough
Innovation is paramount for success in any industry. So, we asked, “Can you share an innovative strategy or approach that helped your company stand out or achieve a breakthrough?”
“We pioneered the world’s first quantum-sustainable AI framework, which uses low-energy quantum chips to power AI computations with a fraction of the carbon footprint. This approach transformed us from a tech company into a climate ally — proving that cutting-edge computation can also drive ecological responsibility,” she responded.
Evolution of Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kind’s Approach as a Leader
Lastly, we asked, “How has your leadership style evolved throughout your journey, and what lessons have shaped your approach to leading teams or businesses?”
Prof. Dr. Kathrin shared, “Early in my career, I led with precision. Today, I lead with vision. I’ve learned that great leadership is less about commanding intelligence and more about orchestrating brilliance — creating spaces where interdisciplinary minds collide, collaborate, and co-create. The greatest lesson has been that innovation thrives not in control, but in curiosity, empathy, and collective purpose.”
