UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan inaugurated the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District on Tuesday, joined by Supreme Council members and Rulers of the Emirates during the 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations. Attendees included Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah; Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Ruler of Umm Al Quwain; Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah; and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
The Zayed National Museum traces the life of Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the UAE’s history from ancient eras to today, using immersive tech, soundscapes, artifacts, and visuals. Its falcon-wing-inspired design by Norman Foster symbolizes national ambition, heritage, and ties to nature.
Following the inauguration, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, accompanied by Their Highnesses the Rulers and other sheikhs, toured the museum’s halls, viewing displays, documents, archaeological artifacts, and personal possessions of the Founding Fathers. The exhibits comprise audio recordings, photographs, archive footage, and other materials that depict pivotal times in UAE history.
