After initial confusion regarding Air India Express’ winter schedule, residents of the United Arab Emirates who are traveling to the southern Indian state of Kerala may now anticipate that airline services to Thiruvananthapuram would continue.
According to reports, Air India was preparing to cut back on the number of low-cost flights between Kerala and Gulf countries run by its subsidiary, Air India Express, for the forthcoming winter season (October 2025–March 2026).
In order to provide assistance to travelers impacted by recent flight reductions, Indian Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor said that Air India Express will reopen important Gulf routes from Thiruvananthapuram.

As agreed upon at our meeting, they will resume flights to Dubai on October 28 and Abu Dhabi on December 3, Tharoor wrote in his article. Additionally, he announced that Air India will run business-class aircraft three times a day on the Thiruvananthapuram–Delhi route.
