As the 12th edition’s Guest of Honor, South Korea was honored on Friday at the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFF). Viewers were given an opportunity to experience the richness and inventiveness of Korean film, which is renowned for its outstanding productions and poignant human tales.

Several participatory workshops and panel discussions exhibiting Korean culture and its universal philosophy were held as part of this year’s festival program, demonstrating how creativity and the arts can cut beyond linguistic and cultural divides.

The causes for the global success of Korean cinema and its impact on youthful audiences around the world were examined in a panel discussion titled “A Journey Through Korean Cinema: From Korea to the World.”

The event, which took place at VOX Cinemas in City Centre Al Zahia, showcased the experiences of Korean schoolchildren who made their own films, showcasing the inventiveness and originality that characterize modern Korean filmmaking.

The Busan International Film Festival’s director, Ralm Lee, moderated the discussion, which was led by the Korean Club in the United Arab Emirates. Lee pointed out that Korean cinema’s triumph “did not happen overnight.
