In order to help residents prepare for the impending weather conditions, which include severe rainfall, Oman Police has released an advice. The country’s Met Department had earlier issued an advisory warning that Oman will likely get a lot of rain on Saturday. The notice was sent out between 2:00 and 10:00 p.m. Oman time.

Convective rain is anticipated across the northern governorates due to the influence of a low-pressure system over the Sultanate of Oman. There may also be thundercloud activity over the governorates of Al Batinah North and South, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, and Al Buraimi.

Furthermore, the weather is predicted to impact the northern regions of the governorates of Al Sharqiyah North and South as well as Al Wusta, especially from the Wilayat of Masirah, with rainfall levels ranging from 10 to 30 mm.

Along with vigorous winds that could result in decreased horizontal vision, light to moderate rain of 5 to 10 mm is also anticipated over some of Muscat’s coastal districts. The Civil Aviation Authority advises everyone to use caution, keep away from low-lying regions, and avoid crossing valleys when it’s raining.
