The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) has formally recognized Dubai Duty Free, one of the biggest airport retail operators globally, as the first airport store to receive Autism Certification.

IBCCES’s Certified Autism Center (CAC) certification recognizes the organization’s extensive staff training and dedication to creating a more inclusive and friendly shopping environment for consumers with autism and sensory issues. Dubai has been designated as a Certified Autism Destination as part of a larger citywide project. Additionally, it continues the tradition of Dubai Airports and Emirates Airlines, who were the first airport and airline to be recognized in this way, respectively.

To help people on the autism spectrum shop more easily, more than 4,800 Dubai Duty Free staff members have successfully completed training in various airport concourses/terminals, and back offices. Amazingly, this was accomplished in just 26 days with a remarkable 98.76 percent completion rate.

Receiving this certification from IBCCES is an honor, stated Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free. This accomplishment demonstrates our dedication to providing inclusive service to our varied clientele. It supports Dubai Duty Free’s larger initiatives to improve inclusivity and accessibility throughout our business.
