In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) kicked out its yearly Pink October campaign on Wednesday. On its first day, the Pink Caravan’s mobile and stationary medical clinics experienced an unprecedented level of community and business engagement. In over 86 locations in major UAE cities, the program provides free early breast cancer detection testing, such as clinical, mammography, and ultrasound screenings.
The Pink Caravan created a complete program of educational events, interactive workshops, and other activities that are open to all citizens and residents of all nationalities and age groups, in keeping with its strong belief in the value of increasing community awareness. Awareness of breast cancer and the value of early detection are the program’s main goals. Additionally, the programs provide institutions and businesses with packages and services, such as workshops, corporate wellness days, educational sessions, and mobile clinics.
“Pink October reflects our vision of transforming community awareness into a responsible health culture rooted in prevention and proactive steps to protect the community,” stated Aisha Al Mulla, Director of FOCP. The campaign shows that positive change is possible thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Pink Caravan, the FOCP, and our strategic alliances. It serves as a springboard for strengthening reciprocal accountability in order to create a cohesive ecology of understanding, consolation, and business collaborations.
