Al Rahma Women’s Village for widows, orphans, and their families in the Puttalam area of Sri Lanka was visited by Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the deputy ruler of Sharjah and chairman of the Sharjah Media Council.
During his tour of the village, the chairman of the Sharjah Media Council learned about the services and amenities that the families might use. He looked at the clothes show that featured the village’s goods, including clothing for women and children that are exported to nearby villages and sold locally.
He also visited the sewing training facilities, where local women receive instruction in fabric cutting, stitching, and tailoring. To maintain family stability, these programs support skill development, provide job opportunities, and offer a reliable source of income.
The village’s medical centre, which has a triage area, an examination room, and a pharmacy with a variety of necessary medications, was also inspected by the Deputy Ruler. These free medical services are provided to the village’s ladies in order to alleviate their challenging situations and protect the health of mothers and children.
He also spoke with kids in the local park, which offers play areas and leisure to orphans. Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed cut the ribbon to officially open the freshly built homes and give 40 of them to bereaved women.
