why-did-donald-trump-ask-americans-not-to-rush-car-purchases-amid-new-auto-tariffs

Experts warn that additional tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump may make it more costly to purchase new cars in the United Arab Emirates. Even auto repairs and maintenance may be affected. Others, however, contend that reduced car costs would be advantageous for GCC markets.

According to Shah Bashrat, an automotive sector specialist with more than thirty years of expertise, this will contribute to a price increase not just in the United Arab Emirates but also globally. These new tariffs will impact numerous leading automakers because they have plants in the US.

Trump declared on Wednesday that all cars coming to the US would be subject to 25% tariffs. The new tariffs, which are anticipated to be implemented by May 3, will apply not only to automobiles manufactured abroad but also to auto parts like engines and transmissions. International commentators also endorsed Bashrat’s remarks. Mark Fields, the former CEO of Ford, stated in a CNN interview that all cars will cost more.

According to Ifthikar Aly, the founder and managing director of Kandy Vehicles, a company that imports used American muscle vehicles into the United Arab Emirates, prices will undoubtedly rise. Although it will take a few months, he predicted that the cost of the cars we specialise in would rise.
