In partnership with Al Maryah Community Bank (Mbank) and the Department of Municipalities and Transport’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), Tawasul Transport introduced a ground-breaking program that allows customers to use the reliable digital currency AE Coin to make electronic payments in all Tawasul taxis in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through the AEC Wallet app.
This accomplishment is a result of collaborative efforts to improve digital payment systems and create a smooth, intelligent, and safe transportation experience. The program is the first of its type in the world to use a stablecoin based on the UAE dirham to pay for public transportation.
Abu Dhabi’s dedication to moving towards a digital and sustainable transport system is further demonstrated by the inaugural ceremony, which included the first official payment made with AE Coin after a successful trip in one of Tawasul’s taxis.
The AEC Wallet provides a quick and safe way to make payments by enabling consumers to complete transactions by scanning a QR code within the car. AE Coin’s fixed exchange rate of 1 AED = 1 AEC ensures strong financial stability and increased trust in the use of digital currencies.
The AEC Wallet app may be downloaded for free from the Huawei AppGallery, Google Play, and the Apple Store. It offers a cutting-edge user interface with an emphasis on quick transactions, strong security, and inexpensive transfer fees.
