At the US Critical Minerals Ministerial in Washington, DC, the US and the UAE inked a Framework on Securing Supply in the Mining and Processing of Critical Minerals and Rare Earths. The framework highlights the strong bilateral collaboration and the common goal of constructing robust supply chains for defence, sophisticated technology, and long-term industrial growth-critical materials.

The US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, Jacob Helberg, and the Minister of Investment, Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, signed the framework. At the US Critical Minerals Ministerial, the Ministry of Investment joined international partners to sign the agreement. The US Department of State invited the ministry to attend the event, where it engaged with more than 50 global counterparts to discuss and work on ways to make critical minerals supply chains more secure and resilient.

By utilising current policy instruments, such as the industrial demand and stockpile infrastructure in the US and the strategic reserves in the UAE, the framework creates a coordinated approach to speed up the secure supply of vital minerals.
