Artificial intelligence has quickly emerged as a viable and scalable answer to some of the most critical issues confronting current healthcare systems. Reflecting this potential, the UAE’s AI healthcare sector, which was worth roughly $39 million in 2024, is expected to expand nearly tenfold to $337.9 million by 2033. This high growth trajectory demonstrates continued policy focus and long-term trust in AI’s potential as a disruptive force in healthcare delivery.
While innovation is important, the true value of AI resides in its capacity to produce demonstrable results in clinical and operational settings. This necessitates strong coordination among governments, academia, and industry to guarantee that solutions meet real-world healthcare demands. Recognizing the value of such collaboration, Arcera Life Sciences recently held the ‘Catalyst: Collaborating to Turn AI Vision to Value’ seminar in Abu Dhabi. The event brought together professionals from many sectors to facilitate practical conversations on responsible AI deployment while assuring demonstrable value creation.
On the sidelines of the event, Mansoor Meenai, Head of META Region at Arcera, spoke with Gulf Today about how strong AI and data infrastructure can enable secure, efficient, and responsible use of technology in the healthcare industry. The forum examined how, in a digital-first world, resilience in healthcare is increasingly defined by adaptation. It emphasized resilience in three crucial areas: scientific aptitude, digital infrastructure, and human capital. It also emphasized the importance of boosting local and regional medication development capabilities, as well as manufacturing, in reducing dependency on global supply chains. The seminar also highlighted how a strong AI and data infrastructure promotes secure, efficient, and responsible use of technology.
