Following approval from the Education, Human Development, and Community Development Council, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has announced a new academic calendar structure that will be implemented across all public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) for the academic year 2025-2026, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing the national education system.

The new structure makes significant adjustments to end-of-term vacations, resulting in a more flexible and consistent academic schedule throughout UAE-based HEIs. Aligned with the ‘Year of Community’ objectives, the framework strives to enhance family closeness while also supporting pupils through a fair distribution of study and break hours.

The new academic calendar reflects the Ministry’s commitment to creating an integrated university environment that meets student needs, enhances academic life, and boosts student performance,” said Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dr. Al Awar went on to say: “This action demonstrates our continuous attempts to improve the effectiveness of the higher education system by coordinating academic regulations with the objectives of community development and student requirements. The modifications represent a significant movement in the direction of a more adaptable, well-balanced system that promotes students’ personal development, community involvement, and well-being.
