A Mars meteorite, a pulsing artificial heart made from stem cells, and Hello Kitty toys in the shape of algae are among the highlights of the Osaka event, which runs through mid-October.
The “Grand Ring,” the biggest wooden structure in the world, surrounds most of the pavilions, allowing architects’ imaginations to run wild.
