According to local media, demonstrators burned regional parliament buildings in three provinces on Saturday: Cirebon in West Java, Pekalongan in Central Java, and West Nusa Tenggara. Following Friday’s unrest in Makassar, South Sulawesi, when demonstrations resulted in at least three fatalities and five injuries, there were arson attacks.

Although it could not be confirmed, local media site metrotvnews.com claimed another death connected to the fire at Makassar’s parliament building. In a video message released on Saturday, presidential spokeswoman Prasetyo Hadi announced that Prabowo Subianto had canceled his scheduled trip to Beijing because to the disturbance.
