The UAE’s first comprehensive handbook on learning impairments and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) was released by the Sharjah Centre for Learning impairments in a historic move that furthers Sharjah’s dedication to inclusive education.

The groundbreaking book, “Integrated Services for Learning Disabilities and ADHD: Standards and Procedures,” was unveiled today at the Sharjah Education Academy in the presence of high-ranking authorities and educational specialists.

As the first standardised reference that unifies concepts and methods for learning disabilities and ADHD in the United Arab Emirates, the integrated handbook for learning disabilities and ADHD is the result of years of hard work. For all educators, psychologists, parents, and other medical and educational professionals, the handbook serves as a vital tool and resource.

Early issue detection, diagnostic processes, individualised intervention plans, successful educational models, behaviour modification tactics, and classroom and home support measures are all included in this science-based roadmap.

With the use of actual case studies and flexible lesson ideas, the book provides a practical emphasis while drawing on comprehensive assessments of worldwide research. By adapting global best practices to UAE-specific circumstances, the book facilitates local adaptation.

This first-of-its-kind guide embodies Sharjah’s vision to empower individuals with learning challenges through innovative solutions,” said HE Sheikha Jamila bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, in his remarks on the occasion. In terms of establishing equitable chances for development and community involvement, it marks a significant advancement.
