Following the devastating number of fatalities and injuries caused by the fire in the ski resort town of Crans-Montana, the United Arab Emirates has declared its complete sympathy with the Swiss Confederation.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed the UAE’s solidarity with the Swiss government and people during this trying time and offered its sincere condolences for the substantial death toll.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also conveyed its solidarity with everyone impacted by this terrible tragedy, sent its heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the relatives of the fatalities, and wished a rapid recovery for all the injured.

Efforts are underway to determine the precise circumstances of the fire, Parmelin added, emphasizing that this is for the benefit of the victims, their relatives, and the general public. He stated that flags will fly at half-mast for five days, as such a catastrophe must not occur again.

According to Parmelin, victim identification is a time-consuming and challenging process. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to France, Germany, and Italy for their assistance and mentioned that efforts are on to establish communication with the relatives of victims from other countries. Authorities have deployed about 10 helicopters, 40 ambulances, and 150 responders while sealing off the area and enforcing a no-fly zone.
