The United Arab Emirates has received the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) “Full Transparency” classification for the third year in a row. The UAE has fully complied with international non-proliferation agreements and safeguards, and its nuclear energy program is peaceful. This acknowledgement is part of the IAEA’s 2024 Safeguards Report.
This accomplishment demonstrates that the United Arab Emirates uses all nuclear materials only for peaceful reasons. It displays how well the UAE’s regulatory framework works, how transparent it is, and how well it complies with its commitments to international nuclear non-proliferation.
Information regarding nuclear facilities and activities, reports on nuclear materials and technology, and other voluntary information submitted by the UAE in accordance with its non-proliferation agreements served as the basis for the IAEA’s report. Through examinations and evaluations, the organisation thereafter confirms the correctness of this data.
The IAEA’s 2024 Safeguards Report, which emphasises the UAE’s total compliance with international non-proliferation agreements, safeguards, and the peaceful character of its nuclear energy program, includes this acknowledgement.
