The UAE strongly denounced the egregious and cowardly Israeli attack that targeted Qatar, calling it a serious escalation that threatens regional peace and stability and a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of an Arab Gulf state and a UN Member State. The UAE also reaffirmed its full solidarity with Qatar. The UAE emphasized that the attack is a serious violation of fundamental human rights principles and a blatant violation of both international law and the UN Charter.
At the UN Human Rights Council’s urgent debate in Geneva, which was called by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organizations, Jamal Jama Al Musharakh, made the statement.
Al Musharakh reiterated the UAE’s full solidarity with the brotherly State of Qatar, reaffirming its steadfast support in confronting all threats to its security and stability. He also expressed the UAE’s sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of Qatar over the martyrdom of a member of the Internal Security Force of Qatar following the blatant Israeli attack.
