
Dr. Omar Habtour Al Darei, the Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, emphasized the importance of embracing the modern era’s opportunities, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), which has emerged as a reality that needs to be used in ways that benefit people, countries, and religion.
Speaking at the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was hosted in the State of Kuwait on Monday, Dr. Al Darei made this statement. Al Darei examined the UAE’s innovative experience as a useful example of adapting to the times, showcasing creative projects including the use of artificial intelligence into sermons and mosques.
He also cited the UAE’s initiatives to enhance coexistence principles, regulate religious matters through a thorough legal system, and qualify religious competencies using sophisticated and well-organized curriculum.
Family and generational issues, the advancement of religious, moral, and human values, the improvement of intellectual security, a balanced approach to artificial intelligence, environmental protection, and energy conservation were among the important topics that were covered in the ministerial meeting in order to address the needs of societies.
