UAE-ETHIOPIA-ERITREA-DIPLOMACY

At the G20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting (TIMM) in Gqeberha, South Africa, UAE Foreign Trade Minister Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi reiterated the country’s conviction that free, rules-based trade is still a vital force behind long-term global development.

The UAE’s continued support for cooperative solutions to today’s trade problems, such as the necessity of modernizing and fortifying supply chains and improving the accessibility and equity of the international trading system, was highlighted by Al Zeyoudi during his speech.

The main platform for member countries to debate trade and investment-related problems is the G20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting. These deliberations will then inform the G20 Leaders’ Summit in November. During its G20 presidency, South Africa invited the UAE as a special guest. The UAE delegation, led by Al Zeyoudi, attended sessions on the importance of industrialization for sustainable development, the concepts of inclusive growth and trade, and the continuous need for World Trade Organization (WTO) reform.

To promote a fair international trading system, Al Zeyoudi emphasized in his contributions the importance of coordinating results across different international bodies. In order for all countries to profit from international commerce, he also explained the importance of tackling developmental challenges in trade policies.
