Authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced Friday that any organization that disseminates or advertises inaccurate information concerning sporting events in the nation would face legal repercussions.

According to a report by the state-run news outlet WAM, the Ministry of Sports issued the warning after it was discovered that certain organizations had “announced” the creation of specific sports federations without adhering to the law and receiving the required permits.

According to the ministry, those who want to form sports clubs or federations must fulfill the requirements and adhere to the procedures set down in the sports law and other relevant rules.

Ignoring the processes… would subject people and organizations to legal responsibility,” the ministry stated.

The authorities also demanded that sports news be accurate and that the reliability of sources be guaranteed to prevent the publication of any information that could jeopardize the interests of sports and the nation’s sports community.
