President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on his working visit to the UAE to attend Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
His Highness expressed his pleasure in receiving the Azerbaijani President and thanked him for accepting the invitation to ADSW.
He also congratulated him on Azerbaijan’s successful hosting of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and the major outcomes accomplished there. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said that President Aliyev’s leadership and worldwide trust in Azerbaijan were critical to the conference’s success.
Sheikh Mohamed and Aliyev met at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in areas such as the economy, investment, development, renewable energy, climate action, and other critical sectors that are in both countries’ best interests. These initiatives are intended to promote long-term development and prosperity for their respective populations.
The conversations also touched on major themes from Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, emphasising its critical role in boosting worldwide awareness of sustainability issues and potential.
