Publishing professionals from around the world will gather in Sharjah from November 2–4 for the 15th Sharjah Publishers Conference (SPC), which will explore how changes in global markets are changing copyrights, production, distribution, and business models.
The program, hosted by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) at Expo Centre Sharjah, will highlight tactics for expanding Arabic and translated material and evaluate the effects of audiobooks, digital publishing, and other new media.
Leading publishers’ and cultural institutions’ working models will be presented at the conference through case studies and targeted conversations. The topics of discussion will include how publishers are adjusting to the needs of digital formats and multilingual markets, reaching new audiences, and responding to competition.
Preceding the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), the conference brings together prominent publishing and policy voices to enhance international conversation and industry development, highlighting the emirate’s expanding impact in global publishing.
As the publishing industry continues to change quickly, publishers must remain flexible and engaged with new trends, according to Mansour Al Hassani, General Coordinator of Professional Conferences at SBA.
