At the 55th Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show at Expo Centre Sharjah, a stunning display of twenty Emirati women designers’ handcrafted gold and diamond jewellery has garnered a lot of attention.

These stunning creations were on show under the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (SCCI) “Emirati Goldsmiths” program, which connects local designers with more than 500 regional and international exhibitors and empowers them.

New designers from all around the United Arab Emirates were invited to this year’s platform, and the natural surroundings and rich cultural legacy of the nation influenced their designs. Many of the designs combined traditional “Talli” handicrafts in creative, modern ways, fusing tradition with contemporary craftsmanship, and were crafted from gold and jewels. The “Emirati Dama’a,” the “Well” design, the “Palm Necklace,” and the “Zayed Lantern” were some of the most talked-about pieces; they were all praised for their uniqueness and superb craftsmanship.

The SCCI and Expo Centre Sharjah Chairman, Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, reaffirmed the Chamber’s dedication to fostering the next generation of Emirati talent and expanding their contribution to the country’s economy, especially in the thriving gold and jewellery industry. He pointed out that the “Emirati Goldsmiths” platform, which already has 400 members from all emirates, has developed into a crucial centre for fostering female designers.
