His Majesty In addition to strengthening the role of school theater by organizing national and Arab festivals that help raise generations’ awareness of the educational and cultural role of theater, Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme President of the Arab Theatre Institute, Supreme Council Member, and Ruler of Sharjah, presided over the meeting of the Institute’s Board of Trustees at its headquarters in Sharjah. He also directed the launch of the “Sultan Al Qasimi Award for Youth Theatre Excellence.
The Ruler of Sharjah opened the meeting by welcoming the Council members from various Arab nations, praising their efforts to develop initiatives that advance and elevate the artistic movement, and to promote the message of theatre and its pivotal role in societal advancement and awareness.
Sheikh Sultan established the “Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Award for Youth Theatre Excellence,” an Arab honour intended to honour young people’s inventiveness and their contributions to the advancement of Arab theatre.
Additionally, he directed the Arab Theatre Authority to give school theater in Arab nations top priority by organizing the Arab School Theatre Festival and starting national school theater festivals. This would guarantee widespread Arab involvement in the educational and cultural movement of school theater, which is crucial for developing an audience that understands the academic and social roles of theater.
