The accomplishments of the Class of 2025 were honoured during the 14th graduation ceremony of Canadian University Dubai (CUD), which also honoured the nationwide “Thank You Sheikha Hind” campaign.
The convocation, sponsored by Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where the 500 graduates received diplomas.
The effort to honour Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, started by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Dubai, inspired the name of this year’s graduating class.
Management, Engineering, Applied Science and Technology, Architecture and Interior Design, Communication and Creative Industries, and Health Sciences and Psychology were among the five schools that awarded degrees during graduation.
Along with other members of the Canadian University Dubai Board of Trustees, Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, the university’s chancellor and chair of the board of trustees, and Prof. Karim Chelli, the president and vice-chancellor, presided over the event.
The Honourable John Baird carried the University Mace. Notably, attendees included Dr. Hossam Hassanein, a professor and director of Queen’s University’s School of Computing, and Charles Falzon, dean of Toronto Metropolitan University’s The Creative School.
