His Majesty Chairman of the Sharjah Maritime Academy (SMA) Board of Trustees Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and member of the Supreme Council, presided over the board meeting on Thursday at the academy’s headquarters in Khorfakkan.
He gave the Academy’s chancellor, the teaching and administrative staff, the Board of Trustees, and the students credit for their efforts in overcoming obstacles and cooperating as a team. The ruler of Sharjah emphasized that teamwork, sincerity, and commitment are what led to this achievement.
Sheikh Sultan stated that he personally keeps an eye on all changes in Khorfakkan in a number of areas, including academia, and that the outcomes are evident in the accomplishments and academic distinction of the pupils.
He continued by saying that the students’ dedication to learning and the campus’s perfect learning environment are the main reasons for this accomplishment. Periodic reporting, the creation of academic programs, and the extension of collaboration with other academic institutions were among the topics discussed at the meeting.
The Board strengthened the Emirate of Sharjah’s higher maritime education system during the session by approving the academy’s budget for the 2025–2026 academic year as well as the rules for postgraduate study in maritime specialisations.
