Following an invitation from Mohammed Juma Al Naboodah, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, met with over 200 local dignitaries and families from Deira on Tuesday as part of the recently launched “Dubai Lunch” initiative.
The Community Development Authority oversaw the event, which took place at Al Khawaneej Majlis. Through events held at Community Majlises throughout Dubai, “Dubai Lunch” is a community-driven program aimed at bolstering social ties and neighborly bonds.
The project aims to restore these Majlises’ historical function as welcoming gathering places that promote familiarity, unity, and a stronger sense of connection.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that maintaining the progress of the emirate requires bolstering social cohesion within the Dubai community. “A city’s true strength is measured not by its infrastructure alone, but by the strength of its social fabric and close bonds shared by its people,” he said.
Community Majlises, he said, have always been and will be the cornerstone of social cohesiveness, offering the perfect environment for people to gather, converse, and connect as well as for values to be transmitted via lived experience.
