On Thursday, the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) showcased a unique flying automobile in collaboration with the Dutch business PAL-V, demonstrating Sharjah’s leadership in embracing emerging technologies.

The PAL-V gyroplane enables users to fly and drive on roadways by fusing the characteristics of a helicopter and a three-wheeled vehicle. The automobile can travel smoothly beside other vehicles on the road since it has two engines and foldable rotors. As PAL-V personnel gave an inside demonstration at the SRTI Park, describing the vehicle’s operation and its capacity for both air and ground travel, it was the centre of attention.

The vehicle, which has been under development since 2008, is intended for both air and road travel. It provides a distinctive door-to-door mobility option by operating as a regular vehicle on the ground and swiftly transforming into an aeroplane.

According to Morgan Stanley, the Advanced Air Mobility industry is expected to reach $2.9 trillion, and PAL-V and SRTI Park are now in talks to form a partnership.

The event, held at the inaugural Business Breakfast of 2025 at SRTI Park, brought together notable individuals from various technological and economic sectors, including partners, investors, and entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the event, SRTIP CEO Hussain Al Mahmoudi emphasised that the Park has emerged as the preferred location for entrepreneurs and innovators looking to transform audacious concepts into profitable endeavours.
