This year’s 12th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), which is presented by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), features two categories specifically designed to encourage technological and digital innovations in government communication and recognise creative competition in smart communication: the University Challenge and the AI Skills Camp (AISC).
In partnership with the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), the SGCA’s University Challenge category is a three-day creative competition that invites students from institutions around the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to present creative communication initiatives.
With an emphasis on creating and administering media and government content utilising innovative technologies, the AISC, hosted in collaboration with the Rubu’ Qarn Life Abilities Centre in Sharjah, aims to create an innovative atmosphere for teaching and enhancing practical artificial intelligence abilities.
Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, confirmed the SGCA’s goal and keenness to promote creative rivals in smart communication, rewarding excellence and outstanding achievements in online interaction and effectively utilising modern technologies in interactive public engagement. According to her, this is in line with the quick developments in technology that have become essential to government communication procedures.
