
A 17-year-old TikTok celebrity was fatally murdered by a guy who had persistently approached her online, Pakistani police said on Tuesday. Sana Yousaf, who turned 17 last week and had over a million followers on social media, was slain at her home in Islamabad on Monday evening.
Police have detained a 22-year-old man suspected of her murder after he spent hours lurking outside her house. It was a matter of recurrent rejection. During a press conference, Islamabad Police Chief Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that the youngster had repeatedly attempted to contact her. It was a brutal and cold-blooded murder,” Rizvi said.
Yousaf had over 800,000 followers on TikTok, Pakistan’s most popular site, where she shared lip-sync videos, skincare recommendations, and commercial content for beauty items. Her most recent video, taken hours before her death, showed her cutting a cake for her birthday. Some comments on the video were “Rest in Peace” and “Justice for Sana.
According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, violence against women is widespread, and women are frequently harmed after refusing marriage proposals.In 2021, 27-year-old Noor Mukadam was killed by her Pakistani-American boyfriend, Zahir Jaffer, after rejecting his marriage proposal, sparking international outrage.
